Today I am so excited because Advanced Digital Boot Camp starts over at JessicaSprague.com. This is a class where we get to submit some of our digital creations and Jessica gives us feedback on how to make it better. For example, this is my first attempt at a double spread about my granddaughters Baptism:
I tend to do double layouts and since I have such a large family and so much scrapbooking to do, it just makes sense to double up my productivity. I made a Baptism scrapbook (see third photo) for Madisen using these same papers so I wanted it to match. After sending it to Jessica and making the changes my new layout looks like this:
I think it looks better. She advised me to put the top border on the bottom, align the photos in more of a horizontal line and to move the journaling circle over to the right. After making those changes, I also brightened up the yellow paper, improved the titles and toned down the turquoise brush. It is so helpful to get feedback once in a while, especially from someone with a good eye for design. I look forward to learning more over the next two weeks. Hopefully this will help me have more confidence in my design and speed up my productivity. I'm also starting my Wedding Album for this class. I figure it is about time since it has been over 11 years!
